About the process:
We are getting asked “what do you do?” Great question! We engage in discipleship through learning, fellowship, and applying scripture to contemporary issues. Each of us do this a bit differently.
Dr. Bednar focuses on discipleship and mentoring—discipling and mentoring those who are raising, leading, training, and mentoring others. Her guiding scripture is 1 Peter 5:1-5.
Dr. Bednar chose this scripture because Peter is giving instruction on how to remain committed to Christianity despite their neighbor’s attempt to cajole them back into unchristian behaviors. Peter also instructs on how to respond to insults and abuse, and Peter redefines what should be the primary focus and agenda for Christians.
Dr. Bednar is a professor, has been the director of a Doctor of Ministry Program—training those who are going into ministry—a counselor, a chaplain, and administrator, and has held multiple positions in business.
Dr. Stafford focuses on teaching— teaching others as they traverse their personal spiritual journey in becoming like Christ. Her guiding scripture is 2 Timothy 3:16.
Dr. Stafford chose this teaching of the Apostle Paul as he continued to encourage the ministry of Timothy even when Paul himself was facing persecution to the point of death for the purpose of teaching and guiding souls for God’s kingdom. This passage provides the guidance that Scripture is the source to be used for teaching which is reflected throughout Dr. Stafford’s ministry.
Dr. Stafford is an author and has written various published works. She is an international and domestic social work practitioner.
